Description
About Us
eSimplicity is a modern digital services company that partners with government agencies to improve the lives and protect the well-being of all Americans, from veterans and service members to children, families, and seniors. Our engineers, designers, and strategists cut through complexity to create intuitive products and services that equip federal agencies with solutions to courageously transform today for a better tomorrow
This position is contingent upon contract award
Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Copado CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce development on the Medicaid Enterprise Systems Hub (MESH)
  • Developing, configuring, and managing multiple Salesforce environments (development, testing, UAT, staging, production) using Copado, and ensuring metadata deployments are synchronized and consistent across the MESH org
  • Configuring quality gates including code reviews, automated test execution, code-quality checks, and security scans within the CI/CD pipeline so promotions to Validation, Staging, and Production meet CMS deliverable performance standards (e.g., 90% automated test coverage, 0 lint errors)
  • Promoting and applying an automation-first approach to reduce manual configurations within the Salesforce platform by writing custom scripts, configuring robotic process automation, and automating recurring deployment tasks
  • Managing Salesforce releases in coordination with development, QA, security, and CMS business teams, supporting the cadence of bi-weekly promotions to the Validation environment expected on MESH
  • Implementing strategies for rapid data and metadata restoration in case of deployment failures, including tested rollback paths and recovery runbooks
  • Leading Salesforce backup and restore strategies, including scheduling data backups, maintaining restoration runbooks, and validating recovery times on a recurring basis
  • Leading continuous improvements and enhancements to the CI/CD pipeline and team development workflows to evolve best practices and reduce lead time, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery
  • Setting up monitoring and alerting on Salesforce deployments, Copado pipelines, and integrated services (T-MSIS, MBES/MacFin, Microsoft 365, DataConnect) to detect and address issues
  • Documenting DevOps code-promotion patterns, back-promotion procedures, environment topology, and operational runbooks in CMS-approved tools (Confluence, Box, GitHub)
  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and training to the development team on continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, ensuring all developers complete the Copado training required by CMS OIT prior to deploying to the CMS Salesforce org
  • Implementing observability tools within the Salesforce platform to gain insights into system performance, reliability, and utilization to proactively identify potential issues
  • Configuring alerts on system issues and leading incident response in collaboration with development and security teams
  • Configuring security tools and Salesforce permission sets to enforce zero-trust security strategies and least-privilege access controls
  • Supporting transition-in and transition-out activities including repository, pipeline, and environment hand-off in accordance with CMS contract requirements

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools, log aggregation, and security tools within the Salesforce Platform
  • Experience with Copado Data Deploy and Salesforce Data Loader
  • Knowledgeable of Salesforce platform capabilities, governor limits, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, APIs, and declarative development tools
