Full time cooks are culinary professionals who prepare and cook food in restaurants, cafeterias, or other food service establishments as their primary occupation. They typically work 35-40 hours or more per week and are responsible for following recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and tastefully. Full time cooks may also handle tasks such as cleaning their workstations, managing inventory, and collaborating with kitchen staff to deliver a smooth dining experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time cook?

To thrive as a Full Time Cook, you need strong culinary skills, knowledge of food safety, and experience in food preparation, often supported by formal culinary training or relevant kitchen experience. Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, POS systems, and certification in food handling (such as ServSafe) are typically required.
