We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with heavy experience with CNC - for our Deerfield, WI location.
The CNC Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining machinery to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient production. This role requires technical knowledge of CNC controls, tooling, fixtures, and programming, as well as strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Overview:
The General Manager has the comprehensive responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements of the Division's business's profit and loss statement. The role includes strategic business planning, overseeing the annual operating plan, and leading Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality functions. The General Manager is also tasked with developing and executing the business plan and leading others to meet or exceed key business performance indicators (KPIs) and net income objectives. Full responsibility for P&L.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines and validation equipment according to specifications.
  • Perform tool changes, insert replacements, and approved tool offset adjustments.
  • Read and interpret GD&T drawings, layout reports, and part tolerances.
  • Set up tools and fixtures, ensuring compliance with production requirements.
  • Perform program edits and verify CNC programs meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms, faults, and other technical issues; escalate when necessary.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce scrap.
  • Train and assist operators.
  • Assist manufacturing in solving equipment problems to minimize interruptions and production downtime.
  • Analyze and implement advanced manufacturing techniques, operational requirements, designs and dimension specifications.
  • Evaluate and determine efficiency of equipment utilization and maximum running rates.
  • Assist in new and existing products.
  • Update and maintain manufacturing processes as required.
  • Develop processes for new production introductions into the manufacturing environment and perform assignments relative to the development and design of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and special machine tooling.
  • Advise management on new methods, techniques, processes, equipment, tooling, etc. which would improve operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments as requested and participate in 6S work activities, SPC and PM Programs.
  • Develop, verify, and improve CNC programs for mills and lathes using G-Code and CAM software (Surfcam)
  • Interpret engineering drawings to meet tight tolerances, fits, and finishes
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies
  • Create setup sheets, operator instructions, and visual aids
  • Assist operators with setups, troubleshooting, and process improvements
  • Create 3D models in SolidWorks as needed
  • Apply shop math skills (algebra & trigonometry)

What is needed to be successful in the CNC Manufacturing Engineer role:
  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering
  • 5+ yrs experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-speed stamping and fineblanking, within automotive industry -
    • Prior CNC machining or technician experience required.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
    • Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and CNC programming basics.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Knowledge of fixture requirements, tooling setup, and preventive maintenance practices.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
    • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
    • Experience with mills, lathes, and live tooling
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
