Position Summary
The CNC Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC machinery to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient production. This role requires technical knowledge of CNC controls, tooling, fixtures, and programming, as well as strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines and validation equipment according to specifications.
  • Perform tool changes, insert replacements, and approved tool offset adjustments.
  • Read and interpret GD&T drawings, layout reports, and part tolerances.
  • Set up tools and fixtures, ensuring compliance with production requirements.
  • Perform program edits and verify CNC programs meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms, faults, and other technical issues; escalate when necessary.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce scrap.
  • Train and assist operators and peers in CNC best practices.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including Lock Out-Tag Out procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or CNC certification preferred.
  • Prior CNC machining or technician experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and CNC programming basics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of fixture requirements, tooling setup, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to noise, lubricants, and machining equipment.
  • Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety standards.
