Responsibilities

Berkley Entertainment is seeking an Entertainment Underwriter to join its team in Irving, Texas.

We are open to local candidates with 4+ years of commerical underwriting experience (E&S is a plus) who are willing to be in the office 3-4 days a week.

The Entertainment Underwriter has responsibility for new and renewal business for his/her own book of business. The position will be responsible for driving profitable growth with specific Entertainment brokers in multiple regions of the country.  Lines of business include entertainment packages, property, inland marine, general liability, automobile, umbrella, and workers' compensation. We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, results oriented with solid business and underwriting acumen.

  • Underwriting duties will include developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals.
  • Essential skills include collaborating/innovating with underwriters, operations, claims, loss control, marketing, regulatory and senior management.
  • Must implement and manage effective pricing and rate strategies that will produce profitability, book growth, and successful producer relations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key producers, clients and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience, preferably in entertainment multi-line packages including Flim and Television.    
  • Strong sales and marketing capabilities with a track record of closing deals.
  • Demonstrate success in marketing, producer management, new business development, and the ability to successfully negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners.
  • Solid background in risk analysis and experience with complex accounts.
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with the underwriting process and partner effectively with an Underwriting Assistant.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and coworkers.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies expected.
  • Adaptability and creativity in a dynamic business environment.
