Job description

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time Intelligence Specialist (GG-0132-13), to perform as a Chinese Linguist and Intelligence Analyst working at the 375th Cyberspace Operations Squadron (COS), Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
This position requires the incumbent to be foreign language proficient in Chinese with a Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) score of 3+/2+
Salary ($108,001 - $140,430) based on experience.
May qualify for Total Local Market Supplement (TLMS) pay with a qualifying STEM/Cyber degree.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position you will serve as a Chinese Linguist and Intelligence Analyst within the 375 COS. Specifically, as an Intelligence Analyst, Chinese Language Analyst, and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) Combat Mission Forces (CMF) Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber Air Force (JFHQ-C AF) Combat Mission Team (CMT) or Combat Support Team (CST) engaged in the complex technical analysis and production of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements. Additionally, you will provide/enable integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to collect, process, exploit, and disseminate (PED) accurate and timely information that provides the awareness necessary to combatant commanders and other customers to plan and conduct operations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a current "Top Secret" Security clearance with eligibility to gain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Incumbent may be subject to polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position and must be able to meet NSA personnel security requirements as outlined in current policy.
Position is highly technical and requires incumbent to complete pipeline training requirements, achieving senior-level JQR certification by their second year of assignment and Master-level JQR certification by their fourth year at the latest.
Must have at least a bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in an intelligence-related or professional/scientific related field.
HIGHLY DESIRED:
- Advanced Intelligence related, or Professional Scientific degree
- Senior or Master Level JQR Certified as Chinese Linguist
- NSA or USCYBERCOM Combat Mission or Support Team Experience
- SIGINT Development
• Knowledge of the full range of intelligence and language research, collection, analysis, and reporting tactics, techniques, and procedures to use multi-source intelligence information systems to acquire and capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources.
• Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses and reports of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, including database manipulation to acquire information of interest.
• Knowledge of the Intelligence Community, USCYBERCOM, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations.
• Skill in reading and listening in the Chinese language at a professional level and in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of customers.
• Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
• Ability to maintain control of classified material, quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively.
