About the Company:

R.M. Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Its products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.

This position is responsible for efficiently and safely unloading goods and materials from delivery trucks or containers and ensuring their proper storage or distribution within the warehouse or facility. This role is crucial in maintaining the flow of inventory and supporting overall supply chain operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently unload goods, materials, or products from delivery trucks or containers using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness. Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor or warehouse manager.
  • Sort and organize unloaded items according to company procedures. Stage items for further processing, storage, or distribution.
  • Move materials to designated storage areas using equipment or manual handling methods. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Complete necessary documentation for received shipments, including packing slips, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Work closely with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to ensure efficient operations and address any issues that may arise.


Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of material handling equipment and safety procedures. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and report issues.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in unloading and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Palmer Company provides safety education and training to all our employees in GMP Regulations, Food Safety Guidelines, Food Quality Programs, Employee Safety, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) Requirements on an annual basis.
