Description
The Director of the Bulldog Club is a full-time position working in the athletics department, focusing on the growth of annual giving through management of the Bulldog Club. The Director of the Bulldog Club will be expected to grow net revenue through increased Bulldog Club membership, special fundraising events, and the S-Club.
Job Duties
  • Manage and grow annual giving through Bulldog Club membership.
  • Attain net revenue targets through revenue growth and sound expense management.
  • Effectively develop and manage assigned budgets.
  • Host and entertain donors/prospective donors at all Bulldog Club events.
  • Supervise Assistant Director of the Bulldog Club to ensure all Bulldog Club events are properly planned and executed.
  • Plan, organize and execute fundraising events to include the Bulldog Bash and Samford Classic.
  • Maintain and cultivate an assigned portfolio of donors/prospects.
  • Recruit and solicit new annual giving donors.
  • Mine data to identify opportunities to grow annual giving through Bulldog Club membership and fundraising events.
  • Work closely with University Advancement (including Alumni Affairs), head coaches, assistant coaches, athletics marketing and athletics corporate sales to attain Bulldog Club fund raising goals.
  • Manage Bulldog Club team members to include training and supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations regarding outside interest groups to include informing alumni and "booster" groups about applicable rules that could affect the athletics program.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key university personnel and donors to effectively tell our story and communicate the benefits of Samford Athletics.
  • Increase the visibility and support of the S-Club, the official letter winners club of Samford Athletics. Work alongside the S-Club Executive Committee to set direction for the S-Club and achieve club goals.
  • Provide fundraising support for assigned sport(s).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Development and Strategy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends in addition to normal business hours.
  • Ability to do limited travel.
  • Ability to set up and break down for donor hospitality and fundraising events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Former student-athlete with a strong sense of teamwork and athletics culture.
  • Great work ethic and ability to adjust.
  • Individual must have the ability to interface professionally with colleagues, donors and University personnel.
  • Individual must have strong organizational skills that allow the candidate to manage several initiatives at one time.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
  • Donor Management software knowledge preferred.
  • Individual would have some minimum level of experience in a related field including fundraising, athletics development, and event operations.
