The (USA) Specialist, Building Controls position involves collaborating with cross-functional business and technology teams to ensure reliable asset onboarding, standardization, reconciliation, and monitoring of HVAC/R control assets. This role maintains high-quality asset data to support operational, analytical, and technology initiatives across the organization. The specialist provides subject matter expertise on building management systems (BMS) and drives continuous improvement efforts. Through technical expertise, data stewardship, and effective stakeholder communication, the position contributes to operational excellence, system reliability, energy efficiency, and enhanced customer experience.
About the team:
The Digital Enablement team ensures accurate asset onboarding, standardization, and monitoring by maintaining high-quality asset data that supports business and technology partners. Collaborating across functions, the team optimizes building performance and controls through expertise in building management systems, HVAC/R, and project management. Members emphasize continuous improvement, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication to achieve organizational goals. The team upholds integrity, accountability, and excellence, driving sustainable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support Walmart’s commitment to innovation and value creation.
What you'll do:
  • Manage and validate HVAC/R control asset onboarding processes.
  • Ensure asset data quality, consistency, and governance across platforms.
  • Perform asset reconciliation and ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Partner with Facilities, Technology, and Operations teams.
  • Provide expertise on Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC/R controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze asset performance and data integrity issues.
  • Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
