Staff Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time

We are a well-established CPA firm seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with a diverse client base, preparing financial statements and tax returns, and building lasting client relationships. The successful candidate will be organized, analytical, and committed to delivering high-quality work while managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns.
  • Perform audit, review, and compilation engagements.
  • Perform bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare payroll tax returns and other required tax filings.
  • Assist with tax planning and research.
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Stay current on federal and state tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to provide exceptional client service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Knowledge of individual and business tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks preferred.
  • Experience with payroll and payroll tax preparation preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
