Job description

Our Opportunity: Blending Supervisor

Status: Full Time (Night Shift)

Hours: 12-hour shift - 6:45pm-6:45am

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)



Position Summary:
To supervise and improve the operations of the Blending department for both the assigned shift and others

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and develops Lead Blending Technicians and Blending Technicians.
  • Manages the planning and daily operations of the Blending department
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are followed via routine auditing
  • Completes training of Lead Blending technicians and Blending Technicians
  • Verifies proper completion and documentation of master sanitation schedule tasks.
  • Completes progressive disciplinary action and documentation as required.
  • Promotes a safe, positive, sanitary, and productive work environment.
  • Ensures Lead Blending Technicians and Blending Technicians stay on task and manage time efficiently.
  • Communicates and collaborates directly with other departments (Ingredient Control, Production, Shipping & Receiving, Quality, Planning, Accounting).
  • Confirms ingredients delivered via tanker are within quantitative and qualitative specifications. Unloads ingredient tankers.
  • Manages & assists with making batches as needed.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative evaluation of batches in the laboratory as required.
  • Ensures that the team has proper PPE and consumables available to them. Reports any shortages to the Blending Manager for re-order.
  • Performs CIPs on batching equipment such as storage vessels, pumps, etc.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts regarding people, processes, and equipment.
  • Enforces procedures regarding Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure sanitary production and the highest level of quality according to customer specifications.
  • Communicates directly with customers.
  • Manages departmental projects.
  • Submits and follow up on work orders.
  • Prints and assembles batch sheets & associated documentation.
  • Maintains adherence to standards set forth by FSMA.
  • Other duties may be assigned

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Previous supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or machine operation experience
  • Forklift experience or certification
  • Experience working with inventory systems
  • Knowledge of food safety practices such as GMPs or HACCP

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout 12-hour shifts
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 65 pounds
  • Occasionally lift heavier items, up to 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when needed
  • Regularly use hands and arms to handle materials, operate equipment, and complete production tasks
  • Frequently reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or work from elevated platforms
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Possess the visual ability to safely perform essential job functions, including distinguishing colors, judging distances, and maintaining awareness of surroundings

Work Environment

This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where team members play an important role in producing high-quality beverage products. Employees spend much of the day on their feet and may work in wet or humid conditions. Temperatures within the facility may vary depending on the season and production needs, including exposure to both warm and cooler conditions.

The production floor can be noisy, and required personal protective equipment includes hearing protection and hair restraints. Team members regularly work around moving production equipment and are expected to follow all safety procedures and food safety requirements.

Employees may occasionally work on elevated platforms and around cleaning and sanitation chemicals while using established safety practices and protective equipment.
