PM Shift 4 PM - 2:30 AM

Biovation Labs is looking for a Weighing and Blending Specialist to join our team. A Weighing and Blending Specialist is responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, and blending raw materials to create formulations for products. This role requires strict adherence to batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product consistency, potency, and quality. The specialist must operate blending equipment, conduct in-process quality checks, and maintain detailed documentation of all weighed and blended ingredients. Strong attention to detail, mathematical accuracy, and an understanding of safety and hygiene protocols are essential for ensuring product integrity and compliance with industry regulations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicates sufficiently by being able to read, speak, and write the English language with proficiency, as well as being able to complete simple match calculations.
  • Able to operate all equipment in the WB section with proficiency and in accordance with current SOPs.
  • Records operational and production information on specified GMP forms.
  • Keeps all machines, equipment, instruments, utensils, and production areas clean. Documents cleaning and operating frequency in accordance with current SOPs.
  • Wears appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Remains alert and aware of work operations to avoid accidents and incidents.
  • Follows established hygienic practices to include wearing of appropriate garments, practices good personal hygiene, hand washing and sanitization prior to work and at any time during working hours.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant in the Food and Drug Administration Code of Federal Regulations, 21 CFR Part 111.
  • Monitors production to ensure documentation is correct and complete, mathematical calculations are correct and without error with minimal waste. Follows regulations of lot number separation of material and records quantities on batch files and ensures accuracy of weighted materials as well as materials returned to inventory.
  • Verifies that each material is correct, and of sufficient quantity before being added to the blend. Collects samples of finished blend. Processes blend as specified on the batch file.
  • Performs correct machine set up and safety checks, reports any concerns or damages to the supervisor immediately. Performs lock out procedures on machines in accordance with current SOPs.
  • Reports to the Weighing and Blending Supervisor all concerns of possible contamination, equipment damage, hygiene issues, illnesses, batch file issues and any other concerns that relate to Good Manufacturing Practices. When in doubt, ask for assistance from the Supervisor or any Manager.
  • Works in scheduled shifts and in overtime situations to meet assigned goals.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other Managerial Staff.
  • Follow the established 5s process in your department. Everyone in Manufacturing is responsible to support and follow any 5s implementations in the department; return all pallet jacks to storage area, remove all trash, empty wood or plastic pallets, properly store all tooling equipment, cleaning equipment and materials in process.
  • Fully ready room for next shift, ensuring the cleanliness of the room and equipment is completed. The operator is responsible for guaranteeing that there is no excess blend left on any surface including equipment, tables, floor etc. at end of shift or overnight. This includes: removing all trash and cardboard to appropriate discard area, putting all equipment, tools, and supplies in their proper location, and making sure the floor is properly swept.

Job Requirements

  • Is attentive to and follows safe work practices.
  • Able to proficiently operate weighing and blending equipment in accordance with current SOPs.
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience sufficient to:
    1. Proficiently read, speak, and write English to meet FDA requirements for record keeping, and capsule inspection and polishing purposes.
    2. Perform basic mathematical calculations—add, subtract multiply, divide, percentages.
  • Understand and abide by 21 CFR Part 111.
  • Physical requirements may include: lifting up to 50lbs., standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, working from heights, following safety rules.

Note: Employees may be crossed trained in any or all areas. At any point in time an employee may be asked by the manager to perform responsibilities outside the areas indicated above.
