Be our next Electrical Engineering Manager
Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will lead a dynamic team of electrical engineers and designers for Science, Technology and Healthcare MEP projects in the San Diego, California office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Technical Subject Matter Expert in electrical building systems design.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor designer level staff on all of their responsibilities.
  • Knowledge in/with the CEC/NEC, NFPA Life Safety Code, HCAI, and DSA standards.
  • Perform at a 'responsible charge' level meeting EXP's design and quality levels.
  • Performs complex code analysis and writes interpretation for design team.
  • Oversee development of design concepts and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Verifies designer's work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Responsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering.
  • Lead the design team to produce construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
  • Execute complex electrical designs.
  • Evaluate Value Engineering items with respect to EXP's level of risk.
  • Prepares studies and reports for high profile projects.
  • Positively contribute to EXP and local office culture.

What your experience looks like
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in related design in one of the following: Healthcare, Life Sciences, Research and Development, and other facilities systems and building projects.
  • Engineering Degree (BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree).
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the state of California.
  • Ability to travel locally.

The pay range for this role is $170,000 - $225,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
