Job description

Location: Cerritos, CA (On site) | Type: Full Time | Salary: $110,000 + DOE
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to lead the full-scope accounting and financial operations of our high-volume Ford dealership. This is a hands-on accounting leadership role responsible for the financial integrity of the store, working directly with dealership leadership and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Full ownership of dealership accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, month-end close, and financial statements
  • Manage contracts in transit, dealer reserve, and manufacturer incentive reconciliations
  • Oversee warranty receivables and inventory accounting (new, used, F&I, parts, service)
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer (Ford Motor Company) accounting standards and factory statement requirements
  • Lead internal audit, reconciliation, and internal controls processes
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for dealership leadership
  • Manage tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors
  • Lead and develop the office/accounting team (title clerks, accounting clerks, etc.)
  • Drive process improvements within the DMS and accounting workflows

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience required
  • Strong proficiency in Dealer Management Systems (DMS); CDK experience strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of factory statements, incentive accounting, floor plan reconciliation, and dealership financial operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA a plus
  • High proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
