This position supports the management, development, philosophy, and standards of the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position provides orientation, supervision, and residential activities of beneficiaries in a sober living setting.

The payrate for this position is $16.37/hour.

Responsibilities

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the enforcement of house rules and overall security of the center, including ensuring all times of day are adequately covered.
  • Assist in conduct residence and program orientation for new beneficiaries that includes a facility tour and review of emergency procedures.
  • Assist with weekly house meetings.
  • Assist with supervision of the medication call and ensuring all beneficiaries record medication in medicine log according to policies and procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to routine questions and inquiries from beneficiaries or refer them to appropriate staff.
  • Provide safe transportation for beneficiaries as needed while following all procedures for operation of motor vehicles.
  • Respond to emergencies according to established procedures. Report situations to the DRS/MRS or Administrator and make written incident reports and Safe From Harm reports if necessary.
  • Assist in implementation, monitor, coordinate and attend leisure time activities both in center and out (concerts, athletic events, etc.)
  • Assist in resolving beneficiary problems as necessary.
  • Assist in training, schedule and supervise beneficiaries assigned to work therapy assignments such as janitorial crew, front desk or similar.
  • Participate in in-service trainings and workshops to enhance professional skills.
  • Conduct bed checks at appropriate times.
  • Administer drug and alcohol breathalyzer or urinalysis tests to beneficiaries
  • Report and document violations of center policies to Administrator and appropriate program staff.
  • Complete daily reports and electronic data entries which include beneficiaries admitted, terminated and unusual or otherwise noteworthy after-hours incidents.
  • Assess spiritual needs of beneficiaries and refer to Chaplain/Administrator as needed.
  • Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education & Experience:


High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Previous managerial experience is desirable.
Must possess a current Driver's License and be able to qualify for The Salvation Army insurance.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common professional journals, financial reports and other data.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from beneficiaries, agencies, or the community.
Abilities to effectively present information to administration, beneficiaries, and/or public groups.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rate, ratio and percentages.
Abilities to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Requirements:


Speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity to be able to perform on computers.
Lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 20 pounds to be able to move equipment.


Travel:


Out of town or overnight travel may be required up to 2 times a year for training or program events.

Working Conditions:


This job is mostly performed in a residential institutional environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. At time they will be required to go into the warehouse or stores. Closed toe shoes with rubber soles are required for the warehouse for all employees.


This position may be contingent on living in the ARC (Adult Rehabilitation Center).
