Job description

Switchgear Assembly Technician


Full-Time | Manufacturing

We are seeking mechanically inclined, team-oriented candidates to assemble sheet metal and electrical components for medium-voltage (5–38kV) switchgear. This role does not involve working with live electricity. Hours are Monday-Thursday 6a-5p, Friday 6a-Noon. Pay is $20/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble metal-clad and metal-enclosed switchgear using hand tools
  • Install breakers, bus assemblies, barriers, switches, and metering components
  • Read and follow engineering drawings and build instructions
  • Ensure work meets quality, safety, and ANSI standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or assembly experience preferred
  • Proficient with tape measures and hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, torque and Allen wrenches)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Must pass an industrial skills test, drug screen, and background check

Preferred

  • Experience with switchgear or industrial equipment assembly
