D&T Imports, Inc., dba Area 51 Fireworks and Blackjack Fireworks, LLC, dba Battle Born Fireworks has a full-time employment opportunity for an experienced Human Resources and payroll professional. D&T Imports owns and operates fireworks stores in Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina. This is a great opportunity offering medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), 401(k) Profit Sharing and Cash Balance Retirement Savings Plans and other fringe benefits. The position works on-site at its corporate headquarters in Henderson, Nevada. It is not a work remote position. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision
    • Provide guidance, support and assistance to field Human Resources team
  • Full-cycle Recruiting, Talent Acquisition & Retention Initiatives
    • Write job descriptions
    • Post jobs, interview and manage the On-Board process for new employees
  • Performance Management & Employee Relations
    • Conduct employee performance appraisals
    • Assist and coach managers and supervisors with employee relations issues
    • Explain and ensure adherence to Company’s policies and procedures
    • Periodically update Employee Handbook and Company policies and procedures
  • Processes multi-state, weekly and b-weekly payrolls
    • Process garnishments, child support orders
      • Payroll audits
      • Maintain and update all employee records for recordkeeping and compliance requirements
      • Create, generate and distribute various labor and payroll reports
      • Manage the Company’s Paid Time Off and Holiday Requests
  • Human Resources Information System Administrator
    • Manage Company’s HRIS and Talent Management Platforms/Systems
    • Ensure data integrity and electronic employee records
  • Health & Welfare Benefits Administrator
    • Work with Broker of Record on Insurance Program renewals and Open Enrollment
    • Process all employee benefit/enrollment changes
    • Review and approve all monthly insurance invoices for payment
  • Retirement Savings Plan Administrator
    • 401, Cash Balance Plan & Profit-Sharing Plan administration and conduct annual compliance audits
    • Ensure required Plan notices are sent to employees.
    • Process and ensure timely 401(k) deferrals and loan repayments
    • Process participant 401(k) loans and distributions
  • Worker’s Compensation & Safety
    • Initiate employee reports of injury and manage claims and return to work efforts
    • Maintain OSHA 300 – Reports of Injury
    • Manage annual workers’ compensation renewal and compliance audit
  • D&T Imports Inc. Business Licenses
    • Ensure company business license and permits are renewed and kept current, paid, posted appropriately
  • Training & Development
    • Ensure required training documents are updated and signed as appropriate.
  • Ensures Regulatory Compliance (Federal, State & Local)
    • Order and maintain all employment/labor law reporting and posting requirements
  • Work with field HR representatives on personnel, payroll and employee relations issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Four-year college degree in Business, Human Resources or relatable field
  • Five plus years of Human Resources management experience
  • Five plus years of multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Experience using ADP’s Workforce Now Payroll Platform (preferred)
  • Experience with implementing HRIS/Human Capital software systems (preferred)
  • Supervision, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Welfare & Café 125 Benefits
    • Knowledge of 401(k) Plan Administration
    • Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
    • General knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
    • Experience managing and maintaining various books of accounts simultaneously
    • Willing to work overtime and on weekends to meet deadlines and during peak season
    • Great customer service to facilitate client meetings and client interaction to high standards
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
