Python Developer

Job Location: Irvine, CA

Start Date: Jan. 5, 2015

Duration: 6 month contract to hire fulltime

Interview Process: phone and in-person interview

Our client is expanding their IT department as more genetic testing grows. They provide physicians with information to improve the selection, dosing, and evaluations of medicine. Based on Genetics, takes certain pain medicine, learn the way it metabolizes in a person. 

Start up mentality with new office for IT dept. Dec. 2014 and team will make suggestions. Possible stock options with IPO down the road.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Python Development experience with agile-like development processes, including continuous integration strategies
  • Strong background with Django Framework.
  • Experience with NoSQL Databases (Mongo, couch, Hadoop, etc)
  • Fast learner, creative thinker, problem solver Knowledge of Linux/Unix, and Oracle databases
  • Team player, highly motivated and self-manageable
  • Responsible, dedicated and responsive in non-working hours as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Action and detail oriented. Highly motivated to drive projects to completion
  • Scope: Building out whole platform

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience with production large-scale distributed systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a large amount of independence and responsibility
  • Ability to work closely with information retrieval/machine learning experts on big-data problems.
  • Any experience with Cloud, Amazon Web Services, or Rackspace is a huge plus.
  • A hunger for tracking down root causes -- no matter how deep it takes you -- and fixing them in systematic ways
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Math, or related degree
