Job Title: General Labor Workers

Pay Rate: $17/hr.

Shift: 1st (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), 2nd (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D


Summary of Functions:

Perform tasks as needed in all areas of production such as (i.e. plant sanitation, palletizing, packing, sweeping, shoveling, washing bins etc.) and other duties as assigned while working near running machinery. May be required to handle minimal equipment such as (i.e. agri-vacs, pressure washers, banders, air wands, concetti, etc.)


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep work areas clean and well organized.
  • Report to work areas on time at the beginning of the shift and/or after each rest period. Observe safety practices and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • When a problem interferes with the machinery, inform the lead and/or supervisor immediately. Immediately inform the lead and/ or Supervisor when the finished product does not meet the required specifications.
  • Suggest changes as needed to improve working conditions for employees and/or use of equipment to increase efficiency in the processing rooms.
  • Work in various assigned areas depending on staffing and production needs.
  • Identify errors or misprints on finished packaging and cases; communicate all findings to the machine operator or production lead immediately.
  • Stack and palletize finished cases with the proper pattern.
  • Sweep, and remove trash from production areas as well as other general cleanup.
  • Pack finished product from production line(s) into cases.
  • Palletize finished product from production line(s).
  • Tools and/or equipment will be accessible at the tool cage per job function, all tools and/or equipment checked out at the start of shift must be returned at the end of shift prior to clocking out.


Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety, and General Safety rules and regulations.
  • Compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate food safety regulatory standards as well as company quality standards provided by facility, regional, and corporate quality authorities.
  • Knowledge of Setton Pistachio's Food Safety Management System and its application in a processing environment.


Organization Relationships:

  • Work with Production Department Area Lead and/or Supervisor and Maintenance Management System to ensure food safety of Setton Pistachio's Food Safety/Safety Management System.
  • Report directly to the Production Area Lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Must have the ability to work together as a team to produce the highest quality products in the most efficient manner.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • The client is willing to provide adequate training to prospective and able candidates.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policy, handbook and all instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to abide and grasp the understanding of all safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks.


Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time.


Work Environment:

  • The employee may be exposed to but not limited to (i.e. loud noises, salts, ingredient odors, etc.) while performing work duties.
  • The employee must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices while performing their assigned duties.
  • The company will provide safety equipment as needed for job functions.
  • May require flexibility in shifts, hours and days of the workweek. Some overtime may be required during high sales volumes.
