XCEL Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Full Stack Developer to support the American Science Cloud / Genesis Project. This role is ideal for a driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and brings a "can-do" attitude to solving complex technical challenges. You will play a key role in designing and developing modern, intelligent user interfaces powered by emerging Agentic AI systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance front-end applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven features into user interfaces
  • Work within fast-paced, iterative development cycles to deliver production-ready solutions
  • Implement and optimize workflows leveraging Agentic AI frameworks
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and front-end best practices
  • Integrate APIs and backend services using modern development standards
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement processes
  • Support deployment and scaling of applications within the American Science Cloud ecosystem

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end or full-stack development
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Experience working with Agentic AI systems or AI-driven development environments
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Claude Code and OpenClaw
  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic project environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, "can-do" mindset

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience working on large-scale cloud-based platforms or government-related projects
  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models into production applications
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and performance optimization
