Job Description SENIOR WEBSITE DESIGNER (Part-Time) Chestnut Studios, Sutton Mandeville, Wiltshire MouseCode is a boutique digital agency based in Wiltshire between Salisbury and Shaftesbury in a beautiful barn conversion. We work with clients across a wide range of sectors including interiors, property and food & drink to name a few. We specialise in the design and development of beautiful, intuitive Shopify and WordPress websites, as well as oering PPC and SEO services, ongoing optimisation and website maintenance.

We pride ourselves on our client relationships, the quality of work, and level of service we deliver. We are a small but highly skilled team and we are now looking for a part-time Senior Website Designer to help take us to the next level and champion our creative output. The Role: As a Senior Website Designer you will lead the design of cutting-edge websites from concept to completion, working closely with our clients, creative team, and developers.

You will play a crucial role in shaping the overall visual direction of our projects and ensuring that every website we create delivers an exceptional user experience, staying true to our clients' brand and objectives. You will also be a confident presenter, running through designs with our clients, ensuring they understand our vision for their project. You will help mentor and lead a junior designer and also be the link between design and development, translating briefs to our developers at the start of the build phase for each project.

Key Responsibilities: Lead all design projects - Be responsible for leading the entire design process for website projects, including research, planning site architecture, wireframing (where required), conceptualising, and creating beautiful, user centric high-fidelity designs in Figma. Collaborate with clients - Confidently present designs to our clients on calls or in meetings, exciting and inspiring them and justifying the creative decisions made for their website project, both visually and from a functionality perspective. Collaborate with developer - Liaise with the development team with the help of the project manager, to ensure a seamless handover of designs to development.

Writing up development notes and ensuring the final build captures the design perfectly. Manage and mentor a junior designer - You will manage a junior designer, helping mentor them to develop their skills and expertise, managing workload to ensure they are always challenged and delegating where necessary during busy periods. Digital brand refresh - On occasion, you will need to work up concepts for a branding refresh, including logo, fonts and colours, as part of a website project.

Applying best practice - Keeping abreast of all design trends and best practice to ensure every design we deliver is the very best it can be. Helping to carry out UX reviews on clients' existing websites and being the port of call for any design or UX considerations from the wider team. Championing the MouseCode brand - Ensuring our own website is the best it can be from a design and architecture perspective.

Suggesting improvements to the design and ensuring it leads by example for our clients. On occasion, running design workshops with our clients, demonstrating the skill and design experience we possess. Must haves: A passion for crafting beautiful, functional websites Proficient in Figma Experience using Adobe Creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, XD) Strong and confident communication skills Strong written skills and a focus on attention to detail Good industry knowledge and a deep interest in website design trends Proficient on a Mac Strong knowledge of UX best practice Experience in planning website architecture Nice to have, but not essential: Branding experience (whilst we don't oer full branding, we sometimes do brand updates as part of a website project) Experience with a website CMS, e.g

WordPress and Shopify Experience using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Calendar in particular) Experience with basic copy writing for websites A basic understanding of HTML and CSS What it's like to work at MouseCode: We are based in a beautiful barn conversion set in the Nadder Valley in Wiltshire with plenty of lunchtime walks on the doorstep Oce-based for 3 days of the week, WFH for 2 days (for full time employees) Monthly team social activities in the local area 28 days holiday including bank holidays Business closure between Christmas and New Year (with no holiday deducted) Monday morning breakfast meeting with coee and pastries 3pm finish on a Friday throughout July and August
