Job description

Job Summary:
BAE Systems, Inc. is a leading international defense, aerospace and security company. They are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to lead the evolution of internal business solutions and web applications, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver features and improve system reliability.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver features end-to-end from requirements through design, implementation, testing, and release.
• Develop and maintain ASP.NET Core APIs, business logic, and Blazor UI components.
• Design and optimize SQL Server schemas, queries, and data access.
• Apply validation, security, and quality standards, including test automation.
• Improve architecture and code quality through refactoring, patterns, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and trade-offs.
• Review code and mentor teammates, gradually taking on technical leadership and ownership.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Significant experience delivering full stack web applications (backend + frontend) in production.
• Experience building and consuming APIs and integrating with external systems/services.
• Proficiency with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., a component-based SPA or similar) and strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid experience with relational databases: schema design, SQL queries, indexing, and performance considerations.
• Comfortable working with version control (Git) and modern collaboration workflows (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests and using them as part of regular development.
• Understanding software design principles and patterns (e.g., SOLID, layering, separation of concerns)
Preferred:
• Prior experience as a tech lead or lead engineer on a significant application or subsystem.
• Professional experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, and Blazor in production environments.
• Experience with MudBlazor or similar component libraries.
• Experience with SQL Server and micro-ORMs or lightweight data access libraries (e.g., Dapper).
• Familiarity with FluentValidation or similar validation frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise authentication (e.g., Windows/Negotiate, Active Directory).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, monitoring, and performance tuning for web applications.
• Experience modernizing or refactoring existing codebases and managing technical debt.
• Background building internal enterprise or business process automation solutions and working closely with business stakeholders.
