Primary Purpose:
To lead campers through daily activities while ensuring their safety and abiding by all rules set forth by camp directors.
Job Category: Non-Exempt
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:
This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.
**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON CAMP ENROLLMENT**
1. Desire and ability to work with children, both indoors and outdoors.
2. Willingness to participate in all daily camp activities with enthusiasm.
3. Demonstrate patience and self-control with campers and other staff.
4. Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
5. Assist in teaching or leading an activity, as assigned.
6. Ability to assist and mentor volunteer junior counselors. Help ensure positive staff morale by leading by example and sustaining a positive attitude.
7. Inform Senior Counselor or Camp Administrators of any camper and/or staff problems or concerns.
8. Follow all camp rules and regulations, while setting a good example for campers and staff.
9. Be knowledgeable about camper's health conditions and dietary restrictions.
10. Ability to assist campers who may need some extra time acclimating to camp.
11. Ensure that all campers are actively participating in full camp experience. Provide opportunities for your campers, so that each camper has a positive camp experience.
12. Enforce camp safety rules and regulations.
13. Ability to work effectively with other counselors and staff.
14. Assist campers in carpool, both before and after camp.
15. Willing and comfortable with being in the pool and/or swimming with campers on a daily basis.
16. Ability to travel on field trips with campers.
Job Requirements: Must be able to work all Summer:
May 19-August 8, 2026
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening
Required Education: Must have completed 10th grade.
Major (if required:
Required Experience: Must have at least 1-year experience working with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in camp or child-care program.
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
