Job description

THE ROLE

3PL Fulfillment Operations Manager - Ontario, California

We are seeking a 3PL Fulfillment Operations Manager in Ontario, CA to join our growing team. This role will own end-to-end warehouse and fulfillment performance across our third-party logistics (3PL) network, ensuring operational excellence from inbound receiving through outbound delivery. In this role, you will drive improvements in speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency while building scalable processes and strong partnerships across carriers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse and fulfillment operations with domestic 3PL partners, ensuring timely and accurate order processing across all channels
  • Monitor, analyze, and enforce SLAs and KPIs, including order accuracy, on-time shipping, and delivery performance
  • Optimize outbound fulfillment operations, including picking, packing, carrier selection, shipping speed, and cost efficiency
  • Coordinate inbound logistics by partnering with suppliers, carriers, and 3PLs to ensure smooth receiving, timely putaway, and inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal inventory teams to manage stock levels, reduce stockouts, and ensure accurate inventory transfers across facilities
  • Identify and resolve operational issues such as delayed shipments, mispicks, and damaged goods; escalate to partners when needed
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fulfillment speed, reduce costs, and improve customer experience
  • Partner with IT and operations teams to optimize WMS, OMS, and ERP systems, including integrations and automation efforts
  • Manage relationships with carriers and vendors, including rate negotiation and performance management
  • Develop reporting and analytics to track fulfillment performance, operational efficiency, and cost trends; provide actionable insights
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer service, supply chain, planning, and engineering teams to proactively solve fulfillment challenges

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7-10 years of experience managing 3PL providers in a high-volume ecommerce or retail environment
  • Strong expertise in warehouse and fulfillment operations, including inbound, outbound, and inventory control
  • Deep knowledge of SLAs, KPIs, and fulfillment performance metrics (e.g., shipping accuracy, on-time delivery)
  • Hands-on experience with WMS, OMS, and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, SQL, or BI tools)
  • Proven problem-solving ability in resolving operational issues (e.g., delays, mispicks, inventory discrepancies)
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with cross-functional teams and external partners

Preferred: 

  • Experience leading system integrations or automation initiatives
  • Background in direct-to-consumer, retail, or high-growth ecommerce environments
  • Experience negotiating carrier rates and managing vendor performance
  • Familiarity with scaling operations in fast-paced, high-growth environments

Pay Range: $121,000 - $143,000
