About Us

At Local Crafts, we design, produce, and distribute high-quality products for knitting, crochet, and sewing enthusiasts across the U.S. Our team works across multiple locations to create and deliver products that support a growing community of makers.

While our roots are in the craft community, our operations are built on delivering high-quality products efficiently through strong warehouse and distribution processes. We work collaboratively across teams to improve how we serve our customers every day.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, tenacious, and hands-on Fulfillment Operations Manager to lead daily fulfillment operations at our Texas-based distribution facility supporting multiple premier brands โ€” including Berroco, Madelinetosh, and Jimmy Beans Wool.

This individual will own fulfillment operations end-to-end, lead a diverse team, and ensure the department runs efficiently, accurately, and at scale. The ideal candidate brings strong warehouse and fulfillment management experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is equally comfortable on the floor as they are driving operational performance.

Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Ensure weekly shipping goals are met and department performance remains on track
  • Monitor, audit, and actively reduce shipping costs while maintaining service standards
  • Manage shipping supply inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement within budget
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance across all outbound order workflows in Shopify and NetSuite
  • Oversee carrier performance and troubleshoot shipping issues across integrated platforms including ShipStation and Endicia

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Maintain a strong, visible floor presence and lead by example daily
  • Directly supervise fulfillment staff and provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and inclusive team culture
  • Handle employee relations matters professionally; assist with documentation for corrective actions and escalations
  • Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety, ensuring all employees follow established procedures and best practices
  • Partner with HR and leadership on workforce planning, onboarding, and retention
  • Motivate and develop employees, identifying growth opportunities within the operation

Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Coordinate daily workflow across Fulfillment, Finishing, and Warehouse teams
  • Ensure clear, proactive communication between departments to prevent bottlenecks
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional issues quickly
  • Support production scheduling and capacity planning in alignment with fulfillment demands

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the development and documentation of SOPs, workflows, and operational standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost savings
  • Assist leadership in planning and executing operational projects and facility improvements
  • Contribute to building scalable systems as the Texas operation grows

What We're Looking For

  • A self-driven leader who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to do
  • Someone equally comfortable on the floor as managing performance and metrics
  • Thrives in fast-moving, dynamic environments and adapts quickly to change
  • Holds themselves and their team to a high standard with professionalism and accountability
  • Clear communicator who solves problems proactively and follows through every time
  • Committed to building people up and developing a strong team culture

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management experience in fulfillment, warehouse, or distribution operations (required)
  • Proven track record managing high-volume shipping operations and large teams
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Shopify; familiarity with ShipStation, Endicia, or similar platforms a plus
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, order accuracy, and logistics workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop frontline employees
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound operational decisions
  • Flexible availability, including willingness to work weekends when operational needs required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
