Job description

The Service Truck Driver / Fueler is responsible for safely operating a service or fuel truck to refuel, service, and support vehicles and equipment across the Manheim auction property. This role ensures all vehicles have the required fuel levels and basic service needs to support smooth auction operations, while maintaining strict safety, environmental, and compliance standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate a service or fuel truck to refuel vehicles, generators, and equipment across auction lots
  • Perform basic vehicle services such as checking fluid levels (oil, coolant, washer fluid) as required
  • Safely transport fuel and service materials in compliance with company, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the service truck and report any mechanical or safety issues
  • Maintain accurate fuel logs, service records, and daily activity reports
  • Respond promptly to fuel or service requests from lot operations, recon, and auction teams
  • Follow all Manheim safety procedures, traffic patterns, and yard rules
  • Immediately report spills, accidents, damages, or safety hazards
  • Keep service truck clean, organized, and properly stocked
  • Support overall lot operations as needed, including assisting during peak auction days

Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to all fuel handling, spill prevention, and environmental policies
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and compliance reviews
  • Maintain a strong focus on injury prevention and property protection

Qualifications:
Minimum
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline;
  • OR 5 years' experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to safely operate service/fuel trucks and related equipment
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle fluids and fueling procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and complete logs and reports
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate vehicle controls and fueling equipment safely

  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and auction days

USD 15.10 - 22.69 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
