Fuel Cell Technician.


Job

Location: Malta, NY, 12020.


Job Duration: 12 months (Possibility of Extension).

Essential Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities of the Fuel Cell Technician include:

  • Build, set up or modify experimental apparatus and test, calibrate and operate equipment
  • Build, setup or modify large scale pilot production equipment including tooling, fixturing and inspection systems
  • Perform experiments, gather data and provide input to engineers on test conditions to help drive to a test result
  • Reduce data to useful form by using appropriate mathematical techniques or spreadsheet calculations
  • Maintain test equipment and facilities
  • Maintain accurate records of the work performed and other records as needed to support pilot operations
  • Identify quality issues and work with the engineering team to diagnose root causes and make improvements
  • Order materials as required to perform development duties
  • Perform all work in accordance with EHS guidelines and raise any EHS issues to site leadership

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) testing experience
  • High-temperature experimental experience
  • Experience with reforming and / or steam systems
Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering Sciences or related field, OR a High School Diploma or GED with at least 3+ years of industrial experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Malta, NY
  • Prior experience working with fuel cells
  • Hands-on experience performing basic fabrication such as welding, grinding, machining, plumbing
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of global codes and standards
