Position Summary:

The Supervisor in Training (SIT) program is a 12-month leadership development program designed to prepare high-potential individuals to become Operations Supervisors within our waste and recycling operations.

This program is self-led and provides hands-on operational experience, structured training, and leadership development across all aspects of the business.

This position is Safety Sensitive. It requires drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 382, this includes marijuana. This position also requires an active DOT health card. To get a DOT health card, candidates must have a valid Minnesota Drivers License.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Support daily collection and facility operations
  • Drive route efficiency and service reliability
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and safety standards

Leadership

  • Lead frontline employees with accountability and respect
  • Conduct safety meetings and performance coaching
  • Build a culture aligned with company values

Financial Acumen

  • Learn and apply P&L management principles
  • Track and improve key operational metrics
  • Identify cost-saving and revenue growth opportunities

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce Operations Expectations and other internal policies and guidelines
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Operations, Logistics, or related) OR equivalent field experience
  • 2-5 years of leadership or operations experience
  • Strong interest in operations, logistics, or environmental services
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and work ethic
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments

Work Environment:

This is an office-based role with frequent daily interaction with drivers, management, and customer-facing teams. The nature of waste collection operations means schedules can shift - candidates should be comfortable with early morning, evening, or occasional weekend hours as operational needs require.
