Job Title: GlobalScape FTP Consultant

Location: Fully Remote

Job Type: Contract 4+ Months (likely to extend)

Project Overview

Secure Enterprise FTP Solutions for Cloud & On-Prem | GlobalScape migration project. This project involves consolidating GlobalScape jobs from multiple servers into a single environment, ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant file transfer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Migration & Consolidation
    • Move GlobalScape jobs from legacy servers into the new client's server.
    • Copy jobs to a test server, analyze active vs. inactive jobs, and determine relevance.
    • Modify jobs (paths, naming conventions, dependencies) for the new environment.
    • Identify linked jobs, test them together, and migrate incrementally (no big-bang cutover).
  • Analysis & Optimization
    • Evaluate workflows to ensure compliance and efficiency.
    • Support incremental migration strategy to minimize disruption.
    • Collaborate with client's employees and project manager to align technical changes with business needs.
  • Secure File Transfer Administration
    • Manage EFT (Enhanced File Transfer), SFTP/FTP servers, and SSL/TLS encryption.
    • Configure and monitor GlobalScape EFT Automation and Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE).
    • Integrate GlobalScape with enterprise systems via APIs and COM interfaces.
    • Monitor and report file transfer activities using Business Activity Monitoring (BAM).

Core Technical Competencies

  • Expertise in Secure File Transfer Protocols (EFT, SFTP/FTP, SSL/TLS).
  • Strong network administration knowledge (enterprise networks, firewalls, secure communication).
  • Proficiency in GlobalScape EFT administration (user accounts, permissions, HA deployments, troubleshooting).
  • Experience with automation & workflow engines (AWE configuration).
  • Integration skills with EFT APIs/COM APIs.
  • Knowledge of migration tools and cut-over processes for smooth transitions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EFT Administrator or EFT Professional Certification (GlobalScape).
  • Certified File Transfer Professional (CFTP), CISSP, or PMP.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with incremental migration strategies.
