About the Role

FTI Consulting's Technology Segment is seeking a Data Privacy Senior Director to support our clients on our Digital Insights & Risk Management engagements where Personally Identifiable Information is involved and privacy compliance is at issue. ,In this role, you will advise upon, design, build, and support our clients in the development of privacy programs, solution design, risk analysis, analytics, and automation. You'll be a part of setting an innovative vision for the practice and involved in supporting projects across all of FTI Technology's service areas where challenging personal data issues arise. You'll be called upon to collaborate internally and externally and serve as an important voice to the market for FTI's data privacy services.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to clients.

  • Build cross-culture functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs.

  • Develop and deliver privacy operation program plans for global corporate clients.

  • Provide detailed level information to clients around HIPAA, CCPA, CPRA, PIPL, GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA among other domestic and global privacy laws.

  • Manage/oversee implementation of data privacy compliance processes, risk management and control implementation efforts, data minimization and execution of privacy maturity and risk assessments and resources to ensure deadlines, client needs, and budgets are met within scope.

  • Manage multiple large, complex and potentially long-term engagements and clients.

  • Manage client expectations at all levels of the organization, including supporting in-person presentations to senior level executives.

  • Manage creation/editing of final client deliverables.

  • Manage/oversee risk management and control implementation efforts.

  • Manage/oversee drafting policies, standards, and other data privacy guidance documents.

  • Develop and manage project budgets, review invoices for consistency, and ensure that invoices are delivered in a timely manner.

  • Act as a leader and project a professional, positive attitude toward client and firm personnel.

  • Assist clients in responding to state enforcement actions and privacy litigation.

What You Will Need To Succeed


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university.

  • 8+ years of post-graduate experience in data privacy program development, data minimization and solution design with a sound understanding in global, US, and Canadian privacy laws and regulations.

  • 2+ years of post-graduate experience working in privacy enabling technologies.

  • 2+ years of consulting or similar experience in privacy program support and managing complex projects.

  • Experience in client relationship development to include drafting proposals and assisting with go-to-market activities.

  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate or other relevant master's degree.

  • Experience with PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO, HITECH, CIPA, VPPA, and HIPAA.

  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining data privacy policies and procedures.

  • Experience developing key privacy process areas related to data subject access requests, third party risk management, data mapping and system inventories and cookie consent.

  • Experience conducting risk assessments, answering questions on policies, tracking violations, and creating documentation.

  • Experience creating a risk management plan to counter vulnerabilities documented during a risk assessment.

  • Experience creating contingency planning for data to ensure it is recoverable, frequently backed-up and encrypted; This also includes testing and documenting the back-up and recovery plans.

  • Credentials in the privacy or security domain (e.g. CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, CISSP).

  • Strong proficiency in windows and related software, such as Microsoft Power Point.

  • Understand enterprise risk management framework and its alignment with business strategy.

  • Knowledge of privacy enabling technology, AdTech and broader enterprise IT frameworks.

  • Ability to analyze and assess data privacy control capabilities and provide remediation recommendations.

Compensation

Minimum Pay: $154,500
Maximum Pay: $239,000
