About the Role

In FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial, and labor needs by addressing the full spectrum of unique challenges faced by our airline and aviation clients.

We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant of Aviation in our Global Aviation practice. The Global Aviation team is a rapidly growing practice that brings together deep technical expertise across core aspects of an airline, including Fleet, Maintenance, Airport Operations, Finance, Labor, and others, supporting our clients through all stages of the business lifecycle.


What You'll Do

This role will provide technical expertise and analysis at an advanced level; applying a strategic mindset, cross-functional expertise, and deep aviation knowledge in the following ways:

  • Assist in the research and development of strategic initiatives for aviation clients across segments including airlines, maintenance/repair/overhaul providers, airports, manufacturers, and ground handling operators

  • Conduct secondary research, data gathering, and competitive benchmarking to support client engagements

  • Help synthesize findings into clear presentations and deliverables

  • Assist in assessing client operations across areas such as network planning, fleet management, cargo operations, ground services, and maintenance

  • Collect and organize operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement

  • Support the development of process maps, gap analyses, and implementation tracking tools

  • Assist in building and maintaining financial models to support business cases, investment evaluations, and route or revenue analyses

  • Compile and validate data from internal and external sources to support commercial strategy workstreams

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses under the guidance of senior team members

  • Track and summarize aviation industry news, regulatory developments, and emerging trends such as SAF adoption, fleet electrification, and airport modernization

  • Contribute to internal databases, templates, and knowledge repositories to support the firm's aviation practice

  • Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare agendas, and capture notes and action items during client and internal team meetings

  • Maintain organized project files, trackers, and status reports to support engagement management

In addition to airline and aviation industry work, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to large-scale restructurings and other efforts across other complex industries as they arise to gain a variety of skills towards becoming a more well-rounded practitioner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline involving quantitative analysis.

  • 3+ years in airlines and/or aviation industry, Consulting, or similar/related environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and conceptual skills.

  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Internet-based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc.

  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices
