Job description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a MFM Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Certified Nurse Midwife to join our growing team in Panama City, Florida. 
The Nemours Panama City Center for Fetal Care is an AIUM-certified practice seeking a full-time MFM Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Certified Nurse Midwife to join an established MFM office.  It is in the medical office building on the campus of HCA Gulf Coast Hospital.  The practice features up-to-date equipment and reporting software, an MFM Physician along with the appropriate support staff including 2 full-time MFM sonographers, a nurse, RN-Operations Manager, and a certified genetic counselor. Perinatal coordinators assist with arranging fetal subspecialty consultations. 

Essential Functions

  • Provide patient education visits: This primarily would be for diabetic education including review of sugars and recommending adjustments to diabetic therapy as indicated. Other patient education topics may also include but are not limited to, the management of other types of therapies such as anti-coagulant treatment or other treatments as necessary for the patient's care.  Under these duties, the ARNP is to consult/collaborate with the MFM Physician as needed and as directed. 
  • Provide direct patient care by reviewing patient documents, interviewing patients, creating a plan-of-care, and documenting this in the EMR.  These duties would be overseen by the Physician and the ARNP would be expected to complete his/her documentation within 24-48 hours so that it can be reviewed by the Physician.  The ARNP should collaborate directly with the Physician in the capacity on a case-by-case basis as clinically necessary and as instructed by the Physician.

Requirements

  • Florida APRN Licensure, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife
  • American Heart BLS
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in women's health/prenatal/obstetric care
  • Hold National certification as WHNP-BC or Certified Nurse Midwife
