Job Title: 1st Shift FSQA Supervisor
Location: Gainesville, GA
Department: FSQA
Reports To: FSQA Assistant Manager

Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing the quality and food safety systems at the plant level which include all QA policies, programs, and procedures. The QA Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the HACCP Programs, GMPs, SSOP Programs, Paperwork Accuracy and Filing, Enforcement of QA Programs, and Enforcement of Product Specifications.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • 5 years of previous QA experience or higher education.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in food processing / manufacturing environment.
  • Previous QA Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality processes and systems including but not limited to: HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs.
  • Great computer skills.
  • Ability to stand ground and enforce policies, programs, and specifications.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • High energy, Self-starter, and ability to work and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of staff and management.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • High School/GED required; Bachelor of Science preferred.
  • Basic Skills needed: Active Learning, Active Listening, Critical Thinking, Learning Strategies, Mathematics, Monitoring, Reading Comprehension, Science, Public Speaking, Writing, Microsoft Outlook, Timekeeping software, Spreadsheets and Presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise and coordinate quality assurance role to ensure food safety and quality are maintained.
  • Work in concert with all departments for the good of customers.
  • Ensure that the quality assurance department staff is properly trained.
  • Help in the meeting of budgetary and performance goals.
  • Uphold and enforce all food safety policies and practices.
  • Communicate complaints.

Work Environment
This job is carried out in a production setting. Regular visits to production facilities may also be required. During those visits, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold temperatures, and electrical shock and vibration risks. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Physical Demands
Employees must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use their hands for tasks; reach with their arms; and communicate verbally. Occasional lifting or moving of objects is necessary, along with close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Additional requirements for this position include:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and walk long distances (1-3 hours per day)
  • Work in hot (above 90°F) or cold (below 32°F) conditions
  • Reliable transportation required
