JOB SUMMARY
The Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating front-end loaders with a variety of attachments such as forks, buckets, stingers, and snow pushers as well as scratchers to lift, move, and position materials and equipment.
The Loader Operator is also responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting soil, gravel, snow, construction supplies, and other jobsite materials.
Conduct daily equipment and attachment inspections to ensure safe operation, identify maintenance needs, interpret load charts to determine safe load capacities for various implements, and will need to work effectively in coordination with ground personnel, accurately following hand signals, and maintaining situational awareness in active work zones.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Operate front-end loaders equipped with forks, buckets, stingers, snow pushers, scratchers, and other attachments to lift, load, unload, and transport materials and equipment, including soil, gravel, snow, construction supplies, and other jobsite materials as required.
  • Work in close proximity to wellheads and other sensitive areas while maintaining strict safety practices and responding to spotters' hand signals.
  • Perform snow removal operations as required; prior experience in snow removal is preferred.
  • Operate in outdoor environments and in cold, harsh, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections, monitor equipment performance, and identify mechanical issues or malfunctions. Perform minor adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and equipment maintenance schedules, as well as inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Occasionally assist with rigging activities and provide hand signals to guide other operators.
  • Actively support and promote all safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Clean, store, and maintain equipment and work areas to ensure operational readiness and compliance standards.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class A CDL is required.
  • A current DOT Medical Card is required.
  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
  • The ability to work 91 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation is required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience operating Front-End Loaders with forks, buckets, stingers, and snow pushers is required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience handling and transporting drilling materials, tubulars, pipes, palletized materials, and other construction materials is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working as a Loader Operator specifically in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
