Front Desk Team Member
The Osthoff Resort is seeking a friendly, professional, and guest-focused individual to join our team as a Front Desk Team Member. This individual is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond guest service. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, making resort reservations, cash handling, and answering phones.
Job Purpose
To exceed guest expectations and maximize revenues through proper telephone, reservations, check-in, check-out and concierge responsibilities. Ensure guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service in a prompt and courteous manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Front Desk Team Member will attend to guest needs whether on the phone or in person as well as greeting and welcoming guests as they pass through the lobby.
  • Provide prompt, friendly and courteous service in all aspects of the job.
  • Be on "stage" when at the front desk or visible to our guests and act accordingly.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns or complaints in a courteous, timely and efficient manner.
  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Review and have a complete understanding of special packages, activities, and events.
  • Have knowledge of special activities in the surrounding area.
  • Will be trained on "telephone" responsibilities.
  • Will be trained on "reservation" responsibilities.
  • Will be trained on "check-in and check-out" responsibilities.
  • Will be trained on "concierge" responsibilities.
  • Attend mandatory front office meetings as scheduled.
  • Responsible for taking deposits for advance reservations to the standards set.
  • Responsible for completing daily checklist to the standards set.
  • Responsible for cash handling procedures.
  • Responsible for recording adjustments to the standards set.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas, including front desk, telephone, back office, and concierge areas neat and clean.
  • Communicate any procedural changes that would help facilitate hotel operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Strong customer/guest service skills
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Hospitality experience preferred
  • Previous Front Desk Service experience is ideal, but not required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment
  • Holiday and weekend availability
  • Ability to learn quickly and accurately
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
