We are currently seeking a motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator to join our Chevy Chase team.
Position Overview
The Patient Service Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for our patients and plays a critical role in delivering an outstanding patient experience. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, enjoys interacting with people, and can multitask efficiently while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
This is a full-time, in-person position with opportunities for cross-training and growth into other areas of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist with scheduling appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics
- Collect copays, balances, and required paperwork
- Manage appointment flow and coordinate with clinical staff
- Respond to patient questions regarding appointments, insurance, and office policies
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record system
- Assist with administrative and front office duties as needed
- Support overall office operations and patient satisfaction initiatives
- Opportunity for cross-training in additional areas of the practice, including clinical and optical support
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of front desk medical office experience required
- Optometric or ophthalmology reception experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling systems preferred
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
