Job Responsibilities

As a Front Desk Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of guest service activities while providing the highest level of service possible.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

โ€ข Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.โ€ข Answer telephone.โ€ข Post charges (i.e. room, food, telephone), compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests.โ€ข Make and confirm reservations.โ€ข Monitor room availability.โ€ข Block rooms.โ€ข Program wake-up calls.โ€ข Handle guest mail and messages.โ€ข Perform check-out services.โ€ข Open and close shifts making cash drops as necessary.โ€ข Maintain market stock and coffee area as needed.โ€ข Provide information pertaining to hours and available services of the hotel, i.e. restaurant, lounge, room service.โ€ข Provide guests with directions and information regarding the local area.โ€ข Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby, front entrance and surrounding areas.โ€ข Assist in checking all lobby fixtures, equipment and conditions (lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings and maintenance. Report deficiencies.โ€ข Schedule shuttle runs for guests (hotels with shuttle only).โ€ข Provide safe transportation to all guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle (select service properties only).โ€ข Perform laundry duties as needed (Fairfield Inn only).โ€ข Maintain continental breakfast, including closing and cleaning of area (Fairfield Inn only).

Job Requirements

We are looking for a self-motivated Front Desk Clerk with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication skills.

Specific qualifications for the role include:โ€ข 1 to 3 months related experience; High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.โ€ข Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skillsโ€ข Exceptional customer service skillsโ€ข Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentโ€ข Basic computer and administrative skillsโ€ข Availability to work a flexible scheduleโ€ข Maintain a valid Driverโ€™s License from the state which you reside with no major violations.
