Job description

Reports To: General Manager or Assistant General Manager Scope:
  1. Assists in managing the hotel's operations, maintaining established cost and quality standards.
  1. Establishes a positive atmosphere and guest service attitude.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains personal contact with guests and with clients and the community organizations.
  2. Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting periodic inspections, investigating complaints, and initiating corrective action.
  3. Assists in reviewing accounting and management reports.
  4. Compares actual performance to planned performance, identifies variances and initiates corrective action.
  5. Ensures adequate resources are maintained to maximize employee performance.
  6. Ensures front desk positions are filled with qualified personnel.
  7. Ensures established procedures are followed for employment/termination of staff.
  8. Maintains procedures for orientation, training, and development.
  9. Assists in reviewing and approving work schedules.
  10. Assists in monitoring and maintaining procedures for control of supplies, keys, money, and credit.
  11. Assists in monitoring and maintaining procedures for the safety of guests and personnel.
  12. Responds to all emergency situations as needed, including locating and shutting down of gas valves, water valves, fire systems, and elevators.
  13. Possesses a valid driver's license and be able to run hotel-related errands.
