Job description

Position: Project Controls & Grant Compliance Specialist Location: Arvada, Colorado OR Kipling, Colorado Pay Rate: $41.50/Hr. Contract Duration: 12 months Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday in office (Monday and Friday remote flexibility) Project Controls will support a Wildfire Mitigation Program by managing reporting requirements associated with state and federal grants, including Department of Energy (DOE) grants. Responsibilities:

  • Interpret grant requirements, monitor reporting deadlines, tracking budgets and expenditures, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance to maintain grant funding and maximize utilization.
  • Preparing and submitting grant-related reports
  • Monitoring project costs and budgets
  • Organizing reporting requirements
  • Tracking reporting deadlines
  • Collaborating periodically with grant, finance, and wildfire mitigation teams
  • Receiving assignments from the hiring manager and project team through email or meetings

Required Skills

Ideal Candidate Background
  • Financial Analyst or reporting-focused finance professional
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong finance background preferred over project management or accounting-only experience
  • Experience interpreting financial, contractual, or grant documentation is highly desirable
Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance preferred
  • No certifications required
  • No advanced degree required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility industry experience
  • Grant management experience
  • Department of Energy (DOE) grant financial management
  • Contract interpretation experience
