Job description

Position Summary 

The Mental Health Clinician provides comprehensive behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders through assessment, psychotherapy, rehabilitation, case management, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary care coordination using recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices. 

Essential Functions 

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. 
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy. 
  • Deliver rehabilitation, collateral, and targeted case management services. 
  • Provide crisis intervention, field-based outreach, and community-based services. 
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, peers, housing specialists, and community partners. 
  • Maintain timely and accurate Medi-Cal compliant clinical documentation. 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings. 
  • Respond to after-hours on-call responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Complete court reports and attend hearings when required. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or related behavioral health discipline. 
  • LCSW/ASW, LMFT/AMFT, LPCC/APCC, Licensed Psychologist, or other qualifying California credentials. 
  • Licensed clinicians are compensated at the higher end of the pay scale.  
  • Three (3) years of behavioral health experience preferred. 
  • Valid California Driver License and automobile insurance. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Knowledge of serious mental illness, recovery-oriented care, and trauma-informed treatment. 
  • Strong crisis intervention, assessment, and documentation skills. 
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
