About the job RN Medical Surgical (NIGHTS)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a medical/surgical setting
- Perform various nursing procedures including but not limited to spinal tap, gastric lavage, airway management, and ostomy care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting observations and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth to document patient information accurately
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [location]
- Minimum of 1 full year of experience in a medical/surgical setting
- Proficient in medical coding and documentation practices
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures including DME, mammography, neonatal ventilator, etc.
- Ability to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatric patients
