Job description

Test Support Engineer (Electrical/Electronics)

We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on Test Support Engineer to support electronic test equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting automated test systems, supporting hardware validation, PCB-level debugging, and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure reliable product testing.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with 2–5 years of experience in electronics, hardware support, manufacturing, or test engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support new and legacy electronic test equipment.

  • Diagnose issues related to cabling, hardware configurations, and communication interfaces.

  • Support the build and setup of electrical test equipment, including basic mechanical assembly.

  • Execute test programs, analyze failures, and identify preliminary root causes.

  • Perform PCB-level debugging and firmware updates.

  • Work with relay boards, interface boards, mux/demux circuits, buffers, and other test hardware.

  • Conduct ICT (In-Circuit Testing) and FCT (Functional Circuit Testing).

  • Troubleshoot communication interfaces including RS232, RS485, USB, and Ethernet.

  • Ensure reliable communication between test systems, PCs, and connected devices.

  • Support component obsolescence by identifying suitable replacement components.

  • Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot hardware-related issues.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve test-related issues.

  • Document troubleshooting activities and support continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience supporting electronic test equipment, manufacturing, or hardware validation.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals.

  • Experience with PCB-level debugging and hardware troubleshooting.

  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test instruments.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge of RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi communication interfaces.

  • Basic soldering experience (through-hole, connectors, limited SMD).

  • Basic understanding of mechanical assembly and computer software operation.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated test systems.

  • Exposure to C# or LabVIEW (preferred but not required).
