Our team creates personalized plans and collaborates to address health needs alongside our enterprise partners. Whether it involves preventive health care, at-home tests, or access to lifesaving clinical studies, we aim to provide the necessary resources to patients at the time of need through our trusted network of partners, including retail pharmacies, payers, and clinicians.
About the Role:
Pluto Health is seeking a Senior Clinical Informaticist who will be responsible for leading and overseeing the integration of healthcare technologies and information systems to improve patient care, streamline clinical workflows, and enhance operational efficiency within the organization. The Senior Clinical Informaticist will work closely with healthcare professionals, tech teams, and vendors to analyze, design, implement, and support advanced clinical applications and information systems.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and collaborate with healthcare professionals, tech teams, and vendors to identify clinical informatics requirements and system needs.
  • Develop strategies and plans for the analysis, design, and implementation of advanced clinical information systems, including electronic medical records (EMRs), clinical decision support systems (CDSS), and telehealth solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of clinical applications with other healthcare systems, such as lab systems, pharmacy systems, and radiology systems.
  • Develop and implement standardized clinical workflows and processes to ensure consistent and safe delivery of patient care.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to healthcare professionals and staff on advanced clinical informatics systems, ensuring effective and efficient usage.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of clinical informatics systems, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations.
  • Stay current on advancements in healthcare technologies and informatics trends to drive continuous innovation and adoption of best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to research projects focused on clinical informatics, promoting evidence-based practice in healthcare delivery.
  • Independently perform literature searches and stay updated on the current state of clinically validated algorithms, with a special focus on the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) space

Qualifications for the role:
  • Bachelor's degree with a healthcare designation (i.e., BSN, RN, RRT, RHIT, LVN, etc.) with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, or at least five years of clinical experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification in Clinical Informatics or prior clinical application experience strongly preferred.
  • Formal experience with computer science is a bonus but not required.
  • Strong management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced/expert knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs), healthcare interoperability platforms, clinical coding systems (ICD10CM, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CPT, RxNorm, etc.), and clinical quality measures (USPSTF, HEDIS, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management, and administration.
  • Clinical practice experience and knowledge of clinical documentation.
  • Knowledge of hospital and healthcare interoperability practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Specific knowledge of HIPAA, 21st Century Cures Act, and HITECH/ARRA strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as a member of a team.
  • Current valid professional licensure in one or more US jurisdictions.
  • Registrations, certifications, and/or licensures commensurate with subject matter expertise areas assigned (e.g., RN, RPh, CPhT, MT, etc.)
