Job description

The Northeast Generals, based out of Canton, Massachusetts, are a Tier II junior hockey team competing in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). We're looking for dependable and enthusiastic Game Day Operations Interns to join us for the 2026-27 season.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in sports, event operations, customer service, and fan experience to gain hands-on experience working with a junior hockey team. You'll work alongside our front office staff to help ensure every home game runs smoothly while creating a welcoming and exciting environment for our fans.
Interns will primarily assist during Northeast Generals home games, with additional opportunities to help at community events, theme nights, and other team activities throughout the season.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with ticket sales and admissions during home games.
  • Help operate the team merchandise table and assist fans with purchases.
  • Welcome fans and families while providing excellent customer service.
  • Answer questions and assist guests with rink directions, and general game day information.
  • Operate the team's game camera during home games.
  • Work closely with front office staff and fellow interns to ensure game day operations run efficiently.
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown before and after games.
  • Support promotional nights throughout the season.
  • Assist with additional team projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Interest in sports, event management, sports management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with fans, families, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Ability to work weekends, primarily Friday through Sunday, during the hockey season.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Canton Ice House.
  • Previous customer service or event experience is a plus, but not required.

Additional Information
  • Interns are expected to attend the majority of Northeast Generals home games throughout the 2026-27 season.
