Position Title: IDGC Museum Curator (Short-term contract position)


Responsible to: IDGC Manager

Background: The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is a player-run international nonprofit organization. There are 2 staff members based at the international headquarters in Appling, Georgia, USA and additional staff members who work remotely. The PDGA, with over 100,000 active members and hundreds of volunteers, is the governing body for the sport of disc golf, and sanctions competitive events for men and women of every skill level from novice to professional. Position Summary: This is a short-term contract position to prepare the Steady Ed Headrick Disc Golf Museum for the new re-opening of the International Disc Golf Center in the fall of 2026. This person will play an integral role in how the museum is set up and the experience visitors have while visiting the center. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and will have a passion for the history of disc golf.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Record and catalog the current contents of the museum
  • Design and plan the display and presentation of the museum contents
  • Ensure a high-quality visitor experience


Essential Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of proper maintenance, organization, and research of archival collections
  • A degree or experience in museum studies or a related field
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in sports, recreation, and/or nonprofit sectors

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and passion for the sport of disc golf


Location:

  • On-site at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia


Compensation:

  • $20 per hour for not more than 200 hours
