Deerfield Beach based Smart Home Integrator is looking for AV Technicians to join our growing team.

We need team players who are looking for a long-term career with a values-based company. We are currently looking to fill positions for an experienced AV Technician.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Home Automation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of home automation systems, including smart lighting, security systems, HVAC controls, audio/video systems, and other connected devices. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of networking, electrical systems, and smart home technology, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Installation and Configuration

  - Install, configure, and integrate a wide range of home automation systems, including smart lighting, security cameras, thermostats, door locks, and audio/video equipment.

  - Program and troubleshoot home automation systems to ensure seamless operation.

  - Work with networking equipment to ensure proper connectivity for all devices.

  • Customer Support

  - Provide technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely, to resolve issues with home automation systems.

  - Educate customers on the use and maintenance of their home automation systems.

  - Conduct system demonstrations for clients, ensuring they understand the functionality and features of their setup.

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  - Perform regular maintenance and updates on installed systems to ensure they are functioning optimally.

  - Diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware and software components.

  - Coordinate with manufacturers for warranty repairs and replacements as needed.

  • Documentation and Reporting

  - Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and customer interactions.

  - Prepare and submit reports on completed projects, including system configurations and any troubleshooting steps taken.

  - Keep up to date with the latest trends and developments in home automation technology.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in electronics, IT, or a related field is preferred.

- Clean, professional appearance and exceptional work ethic

- Must have a clean criminal background and driving record

- Certification in home automation, networking, or a related area (e.g., CEDIA, CompTIA) is a plus.

- Proven experience in home automation installation, electrical systems, or IT support.

- Strong understanding of networking principles, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and smart device connectivity.

- Familiarity with popular home automation platforms (e.g., Control4, Crestron, Savant, Google Home, Amazon Alexa).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- Ability to sign NDA and NCA

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 80 LBS.

- Comfortable working in various environments, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

- Ability to stand, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
