Job description

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.

Role Overview

As the Senior Principal Product Manager for Atlassian Government Cloud Restricted Environments, you will own the product vision, strategy, and delivery of Atlassians forthcoming cloud offerings built to support the mission needs of the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and their mission partners. Your mandate is to bring Atlassians System of Work to highly restricted environments, including IL6+ and TS//SCI deployments designed for the nations most sensitive workloads.

This is a zero-to-one product leadership role. You will translate national security mission needs into product strategy, define the roadmap for restricted cloud environments, and drive execution across engineering, security, compliance, legal, and go-to-market teams. You will serve as a key product voice to customers requiring modern collaboration, service management, and knowledge tools in classified settings.

You will also play an important role across the broader Atlassian Government Cloud organization by sharing domain expertise, mentoring other product managers, and helping raise the teams collective capability in regulated and restricted cloud delivery.

Why This Role Matters

The intelligence and defense community faces some of the most complex collaboration and coordination challenges in the world. These organizations need modern tools that help teams plan, execute, share knowledge, and operate securely across mission environments. This role is central to extending Atlassian Government Cloud into the most demanding classified settings and helping Atlassian become a trusted long-term platform partner for these customers.

This is also a strategic role for Atlassian. The market for restricted and classified cloud solutions is growing, customer expectations are rising. Atlassian has an opportunity to deliver its transformative tools to these mission customers to help them deliver on their rapidly evolving missions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and owning the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for restricted cloud offerings supporting IL6, TS//SCI, and related mission environments.

  • Translating customer needs, mission workflows, and accreditation requirements such as NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, ICD 503, and DoD security frameworks into clear product priorities.

  • Leading design partnerships and executive engagements with flagship intelligence, defense, and mission partner customers to validate roadmap direction and shape solutions.

  • Partnering with engineering to define product requirements for disconnected and air-gapped operations, including offline updates, local identity, offline licensing, observability, and controlled release models.

  • Defining and evaluating operating models, including Atlassian-operated, partner-operated, and customer-operated approaches for restricted deployments.

  • Representing Atlassian in customer forums, industry discussions, and strategic engagements across the intelligence and defense ecosystem.

  • Informing pricing, packaging, and commercial strategy for restricted offerings in partnership with finance, legal, sales, and partnerships teams.

  • Contributing to the development of the AGC PM team by mentoring peers, codifying best practices, and sharing expertise in classified and highly regulated product delivery.

Requirements
  1. Active TS//SCI security clearance is required.

  2. 8+ years of product management experience, including substantial experience delivering cloud or SaaS products to the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or defense industrial base customers.

  3. Demonstrated experience delivering products for IL5, IL6, or Top Secret environments, including experience navigating authorization and accreditation processes.

  4. Deep understanding of disconnected and air-gapped deployment models, including challenges related to updates, support, identity, licensing, and operations with limited or no external connectivity.

  5. Strong familiarity with intelligence and defense mission environments and the workflows these customers rely on for planning, coordination, knowledge sharing, and service delivery.

  6. Proven ability to work across product, engineering, security, and compliance to turn complex requirements into practical product outcomes.

  7. Experience with U.S. federal procurement, contracting, or public sector delivery models is strongly preferred.

  8. U.S. Citizenship is required.
