We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Please note that we are not currently hiring fully remote positions. All candidates must have the ability to work in Lansing, Michigan.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Analytics Division as an Application Infrastructure (MLOps) Developer. Responsibilities include development and support of software application infrastructure for new or existing systems, including but not limited to application deployment automation, repository maintenance, application security, scripting, performance monitoring, and third-party software administration. The ideal candidate would have experience with object-oriented software development and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) across various Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC). Additionally, an ideal candidate would have knowledge of automation and scripting tools, source code management tools, containerization software, and databases. This position works directly with many key internal stakeholders such as software engineers, system administrators, database administrators, security engineers, and test automation engineers.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related degree is required. Candidates without a four-year degree, but with several years of relevant experience, may also be considered.
  • Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the Analytics Division.
  • Some object-oriented development experience is strongly preferred (Python, C#, and/or Java). This experience can be from a course, class, or project.
  • Experience with SQL, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell, and/or SSRS/SSIS is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning operations tools such as MLFlow, SageMaker, or model deployment pipelines is preferred
