Job Summary
The School of Social Science and Global Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach lower-level French language courses either online or face-to-face. The primary responsibility of this position will be teaching a one-semester beginning or intermediate French.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teach French classes as needed.
  2. Attend program meetings as determined by the program coordinator.
  3. Follow all university, college, and school policies regarding teaching practices and job performance.
  4. Be responsive to communication from students, staff, and administration.
  5. Hold regular office hours.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
18 graduate hours of French.
Master's degree in French and experience with online teaching.
Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities
  • Knowledge of language and culture in the teaching field; skill in delivering required knowledge and ability to engender learning in students.
  • Use of Canvas and ability to teach online both synchronous and asynchronous.
  • Ability to use Mindtap and work with online textbook materials.
  • Professionalism in all activities, participating in a collegial, ethical and responsible manner.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from students,staff and administration in a timely manner as stipulated.

Preferred QualificationsLMS course design experience.
