Job description

Primrose, a French inspired restaurant in Brookland, is looking for a Sous Chef. We provide a warm and inviting atmosphere, creating a place where our guests feel at ease. Our food is rooted in French classic techniques but engages with ingredients and dishes from around the world.
We seek a professional and organized Sous Chef with great leadership skills and cooking ability. The Sous Chef will assist with menu design, preparation, and execution. A successful candidate will be organized and motivated; can stay calm and efficient under pressure; and will lead the team with humor and enthusiasm.
Reports to:
Owner, Executive Chef, General Manager
Responsibilities:
Development and execution of recipes for the bar, dining room, tasting menu, brunch, and dessert
Assistance with ordering and inventory
Managing of order guides and prep lists
Covering of hourly employees during schedule conflicts

Management of morale and restaurant culture
Other requirements:

  • 6+ years experience, with at least 2 years at the Michelin level.
  • Able to walk or stand for long periods. Must be able to push, pull, or lift to 30 pounds. Must reach items at varying heights.
  • Speaking Spanish is helpful but not required.
Schedule:
  • Full-time, roughly 50 hours per week with two consistent days off
  • Nights, weekends, and occasional holidays are required
